Antigua – Caribbean Islands : Hermitage Bay Resort16 Jul 2017, Posted by Wedding Experiences in
It is not everyday that you get to travel to one of the most remote islands in the Eastern Caribbean. When I first stepped off the plane, I knew Antigua was going to be special. Hermitage Bay Resort played host to Melinda and Shawn at one of the nicest resorts I've ever encountered. It was literally like having your own private island for your wedding day. Their 5 star hillside villa overlooked the sunsets of the deep blue Caribbean waters where they could enjoy champagne in a private pool while relaxing with just the breeze and hummingbirds to accompany them. The view from their balcony alone would have been worth the trip, but even better was the amount of love shared, not only between the couple on their big day, but the continuous flow of love from everyone on the island. The wedding day was filled with butterflies, a few tears, rocky shoreline first dances, laughter atop the hills, caribbean sunsets of all colors, and a 9 course meal that no one will ever top. After all of the events of the day, Melinda and Shawn walked out to the waterfront where they sat at their own private table surrounded by only tikis and the ocean waters at their feet. To conclude the evening, one of the attendees at the resort, Kevin, actually sang a sweet ballad to wish the couple a wonderful and joyous life together. Everything flowed perfectly with the island. I am forever grateful for such an amazing couple letting me share in so much magic and bliss on their wedding day. Antigua will always hold a special place in my heart for everyones hospitality and the pure love that surrounded the island...and I cannot forget to mention that amazing Jerk chicken on the street side of St Johns thanks to some locals rocking that BBQ.
"Our day would not have been complete without Jonathan. His passion, sincere kindness and interest in capturing your special moments, and his patience is unmatched. He was truly a joy to have at our destination wedding." -Melinda and Shawn
